What is the difference between Tournament Arc and Tournament Arc: Doodle Edition?
Tournament Arc: Doodle Edition is the same game as Tournament Arc but with alternate art!
Doodle Edition features the original index card sketches drawn by the game's artist, Skyler Badalament-Tirrell. As we playtested the game, our decks would contain a mix of doodles and whatever finalized art we had at the time. Many playtesters got attached to the doodles and requested we sell a version with just the doodles, so here we are!
Some neurodiverse players have also let us know that, while the art is great, the simplicity of the doodles and smaller set of colors helps reduce visual distraction and helps them stay more engaged!
Also, coloring in the doodles can be a fun activity for kids and those who just like coloring. 😊
Why do both Tournament Arc and Tournament Arc: Doodle Edition cost the same?
Production costs are the same for both so the sale price is the same.
You may be thinking, "but surely the doodles are much easier to make and thus would cost less from a labor perspective?". That is true! But we are a small husband and wife operation who exclusively used our own savings to fund the development of the game until we were able to run the Kickstarter campaign to fund manufacturing and shipping. At that point, all the work into the art and game development was done. All the art (including doodles) was done in-house without funding.
Doodle Edition was initially going to be a Kickstarter exclusive, but we wanted to make it available after the campaign ended for those who may prefer the doodles for any reason.
Do I need to be familiar with anime or sports to enjoy Tournament Arc?
There are some details that anime and sports fans may find extra funny or appreciate, but absolutely no knowledge of anime or of sports is required to enjoy Tournament Arc!
Who made the game and who did the art?
Tournament Arc was co-created by married couple Nile Matsuda (she/her) & Skyler Badalament-Tirrell (he/him), both of whom are co-founders of Little Creature! Skyler is the primary game designer, creative director, and sole artist for the game. Nile assisted in game development, provided cultural feedback, wrote the rulebook, and produced the game.
Graphic designer and illustrator Avery Helm (she/they) created the logo and handled graphic design for Tournament Arc.
What size are the cards and the game box?
The cards are all large with size 70 x 121 mm (Tarot sized). The box is approximately 15.5 x 21.6 x 3.5 cm.
Is Tournament Arc a TCG (trading card game)?
No. All 150 cards for the game are included in the box.
Was generative AI used in the development of this game?
We highly value the human touch in all creative endeavors. We do not use generative AI in any of our work, nor do we have any intention of doing so. Every creative decision, every word, every pixel in our work has human love and effort poured into it.
In other words, no AI was used in the creation of Tournament Arc.
Are all purchases final sale?
Yes. We are unable to accept returns.
